TETRA HYDRO K - BASSE EQUITABLE [MELTDOWN DUBS 06]

Tetra Hydro K is the name of a laboratory based in a secret location, run by Doctors Kanay and Krilong. Their research concentrates on experimenting with organic elements (live musical instruments) in a computer-generated environment. When testing these musical concoctions, specialists have been left scratching their heads with unanswered questions: Is it electronic? Acoustic? Dub? Dubstep? Drum and Bass? Why can't I stop dancing? The results of these chemical reactions, as you can you can hear for yourselves with the "Basse équitable" EP, are astounding. The duo have also been venturing out of their lab and practicing live experiments in public, to great acclaim. So wait no longer and sample some of the audio substances for yourself!

REDCELL - PROMISES EP [DIGIPOT47]

Denver based production outfit RedCell is made up of ATIC (one half of Critical Waves) and Automated Prayer. They’ve been very busy in the studio of late and have a lot to show for it as they showcase their stripped-back futuristic sound on Melting Pot Records.

On their first EP, the duo introduce you to their world: bleak atmospherics float over growling synths as rolling drums snap through warped basslines… all masterfully enhanced by extra-low subs that seep deep down into the mix.

All the moody DnB fans are going to want this release delivered straight to their hard drive!

Ukrainian beat engineer Mechanical Pressure shows us some of his secret formulas on this 3-tracker.

Nostromo kicks off with sharp, rolling drums and gradually gathers momentum, slithering into uncharted territories with its creeping bassline and unearthly effects…Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

Dead Escape: Oriental vocal snippets and instruments, combined with tribal percussion, set the tone in this epic intro, building the atmosphere until the drop. That’s exactly when, almost unexpectedly, the bassline chews into your speakers and the drums punch you in the chest…Disgusting!

Unter Tribunal: This tune reminds us of some of the tech step released around the turn of the century and you know that can’t be a bad thing!

Melting Pot regular Mooncat returns to the label with 2 more cuts of his trademark dubwise sound for (y)our listening pleasure.

A premium blend of roots reggae and modern day drum and bass, “Fade Away” is all about the feel good factor. Its groovy bassline, vintage samples and upbeat synthwork can only result in an irresistible urge to skank.

“Nuh Stop Capleton” became an instant anthem back upon its release in 2009 and once again Mooncat makes great use of the dancehall vocals on the remix. This version includes extra added bassline action (!!), effortlessly switching back and forth between tear-out ragga jungle and heavy half-time riddims. ..deadly!
