ORPHX is a Canadian duo who’ve been manifesting their own niche fusion of techno and industrial since the mid-1990s. Since 2009, numerous albums and EPs on labels such as Hands, Hymen, and Sonic Groove have also appeared. Their latest EP ‘The Way Through All Things’ is their first release on the latter label in five years, and as ever flaunts their penchant for oppressive weight, industrial hellscapes, hypnotic sound design, and live-performed, deeply-embedded vocals verging on the cusp of panic. Paranoid London, 999999999 or Giant Swan fans better pay attention, ‘cos Orphx could be considered to some to be the ‘next step up’.
