Ilian Tape boss man Dario Zenker steps up for the latest in the ITX Series and, as always, pairs brilliantly forceful rhythms with pristine sound design and dark, dubby atmospheres. ‘Timeline 402’ is coated in dust with swirling astral pads and precision drums trapping you in the moment. ‘The Walkman’ is frantic but reserved, with skittish, high-speed percussion and bursts of synth sequences that are full of promise. ‘BMW SP30’ is a dubby drum workout that never resolves and keeps looping back on itself, while ‘Gateway To Heaven’ is a manic analogue world of busted rhythm and fractured melody. Four excellently unhinged sounds from the irrepressible Zenker.
