Swedish duo Shxcxchcxsh return to Mord with ‘Qqqo’, where crackling twilights fulfil their huge voltaic potential. Based in Norrköping, the pair have long pursued a machine-grit sound, where sonic crud lines and binds the beats like a sandblaster gone amok. Here they move from anxious propulsion to near-spiritual stillness, with ‘QQQQ’ loosing the Q-factor by way of widened, longing synths, and ‘QQQE’ adding crazed crackle and a lead synth that sounds like tap code. ‘QQQA’ and ‘QQQI’ grow cheesier, with «joynergizer» risers and airhorn-esque sounds collapsing into the conceptual, analogue abstract.
