The brain gives off many waves, from alpha waves – seen in states of rest and relaxation – to beta waves – accompanying states of alertness and intellectual effiort – to delta waves, which are the deepest and occur during sleep. Irish producer Kevin O’Reilly, working as Otherend, integrates them all here in a polyphasic patchwork, ‘Cerebral Waves’, Eudemonia’s 20th release. The full span of ‘lengths return a complex, asymmetric graphcial EEG reading here, from the twin-delayed acid IDM of ‘Tide Us By’ to a closing Sound Synthesis remix of ‘Refraction’, which tightens the coil and jacks up the back-voltage ratio through snippy electro hits and macrobiotic FX.
