Platipus 30 Years Vol 10
Art Of Trance, Pob & Taylor, Union Jack y Jamnesia se encargan del volumen 10 de esta serie de clásicos.
This tenth instalment continues the label’s celebratory reissue campaign, marking three decades of progressive and trance excellence from the UK-based imprint founded by Simon Berry. This volume dives into some of Platipus Records’ most classic moments, presenting both legendary and long-overlooked material in newly remastered form. Side-1 opens with Art of Trance’s ‘Easter Island (Cygnus X remix)’. This is an epic trance cut defined by sweeping strings and a sense of cinematic lift-off that still feels monumental today. It’s followed by POB & Taylor’s ‘Baba (Marc Mitchell’s Human Movement remix)’, whose slow, hypnotic pulse and deep progressive groove perfectly capture the late 90s Platipus sound. On Side-2, Union Jack’s ‘Papillon’ finally makes its debut on vinyl after existing solely in the digital realm since 2009. Its rolling bass and bright melodic edge embody the melodic trance ideal the label helped define. Closing the collection is Jamnesia’s ‘She’s My Friend’, a 2002 rave-era gem packed with euphoric breaks and a soaring melody that stops time. Together, these four cuts remind us how Platipus shaped progressive dance music.
