The second in a series of four concept-lectro pieces from Berlin transhumanists Activity FM, this first-time vinyl edition of the May-release ‘AFM002’ resounds through AMX, Exzakt, ARA-U and Phran, each ambushing the electrobreaks form in their own, prosthetic way. With neodymium magnetism, AMX admits to sleepless, brain-chipped nights, admitting on the vocal track «I can’t get you out my mind» over bandsaw beats, before Exzakt swears ‘Fvck That Sh1t’, a blunt, high-voltage vamp channelling the unmistakably laggard Florida breaks form as though it were touring a fallen Shenzhen. On the flip, ARA-U’s ‘Feels Like Dancing’ and ‘Archivo Criminal’ lean towards dystopian melody, the latter marked out as the digital earworm of choice.
