Rose Island’s fifth ends the year on a high with Argentina’s ELEKTRASH dropping a quartet of sleazy techno and electro mutations. ‘Onirica Estatica’ is first with rugged low ends and a descent into darkness soundtracked in eerie style, while ‘Me Desperte Mar ‘ fizzes with static electricity and ‘Criatura Tormenta’ has a thudding, unbroken rhythm and caustic percussion. It’s a moody world of post-human decay with corporeal drums urging you onwards. ‘Brisa Maleva’ shuts down with some wild Italo melodies mangled through a series of machines, but still sounds fun and quiet incongruous in the context of the rest of the EP, but that’s what makes it great.
