Good things take time, and so it is that we finally get a new transmission from Argentine artist Translate. ‘Spheroid Gap’ is a techno record built on meticulous sound design and deep, enveloping textures, all crafted with precision and vital spatial depth. The title cut is pure deep techno tunnelling and layers of dub, synth and frothy hi hat. ‘Involver’ is more framing and warped, like a un stoppable oceanic force, then ‘Framework taps into cosmic futurism with spraying leads and automated drum loops fresh from a factory controlled by AI. ‘SPC9’ shuts down with a drunken, off-kilter rhythm that is endlessly appealing.
