Missionary On Mars – Clone West Coast Series 27
Bangkok Impact se encarga de producir la música de la referencia número 27 del sello holandés.
Given that he was delivering dark, icy and often deliciously camp Italo-disco revivalism in the early 2000s, it would be fair to say that Sami Liuski aka Bangkok Impact is a nu-disco original. Here, Clone’s West Coast Series showcases some of the Finnish producer’s most sought-after mid noughties cuts. Side A is all about 2007 underground anthem ‘Missionary on Mars’, a low-slung chunk of restless, high-camp nu-disco/dub disco fusion that comes backed by the fizzing, far-sighted and more Italo-focused ‘Red Planet Version’. Over on the reverse, there’s a chance to savour two other killer cuts from the period: the Moroder/Patrick Cowley influenced ‘La Musche’ and the darker, more muscular electronic space-funk of ‘Caro’.
