Louis The 4th is keeping their ID under wraps for now but suffice it to say they are «a vinyl-only DJ, inveterate digger, label owner.» This addition to the Bunkers Collective starts with the sport of propulsive dub techno that has long been a signature of Berlin’s underground rave caves. ‘Ritual Issues’ keeps the pressure on with slowly shapeshifting chords that are powered by razor-edge hi-hats and cantering kicks. ‘Archive 5’ lifts its head a little more with the most deftly layered melodies dancing delicately up top and a Deniro remix of the opener smudges the synths into astral parabolas while the deep, surging rhythms keep the pressure on. A fine balance of drive and mental nourishment.
