Mod21 and Toki Fuko join forces again to carry on their fruitful creative work with the sixth release on Introspection Audio Limited. Rooted in dub techno, the record unfolds through richly textured analogue sonics and carefully sculpted atmospheres. There is a clear dedication to sound design throughout, with hazy chords, submerged rhythms and low-end warmth guiding you into a state of mental calm. The opener is sparse and cavernous with glacial synths and endless echo, and by the closer, the rhythms are still supple but more propulsive, acting like an underlapping current that you cannot escape.
