Sombre sonics from Anne and Sera J, who return for the second edition of their Symbiosis series on Mutual Rytm here. Sharing three grooves per side each, we’re met with lilting lathes of «groovecore» deep techno of the highest calibre, perhaps boosted by the fact that Anne and Sera are partners both in life and music, and that the Symbiosis series is intended not only as an expression of this fact, but also as the expression of the innermost feelings that accompany it. Described as «a mature and refined connection between (the artists’) souls», the likes of ‘Glacial Pace’, ‘Floating Waves’ and ‘Sweet Seventeen’ vacillate between tunnel-vision techno of a stonier variety, and trancier forever feelings, befitting indeed of music made while in a relationship.
