Dub Consistency’s maiden outing sets a high benchmark as the Lille-based artist behind the label, 23.4, delivers some deliciously hypnotic dub techno that is both driving and spacious. Tracks like ‘Rolling Percussion’ and ‘Weighty Low-End’ showcase meticulous attention to the finer details that really matter on a proper system. Subtle atmospheres conjure echoes of Detroit’s raw soul and Berlin’s cavernous echo. The Volpe remix adds a tribal, peak-time edge that fuses the original’s dub and deep textures with commanding intensity. Mastered by Conor Dalton and including two locked grooves, this is already a label we’re going to be watching closely off the back of this.
