Footprints – Blueprint 86

Blueprint turns 30 and Kr!z arrives with steel-capped boots. The Belgian producer, Token founder and long-time disciple of Mills, Rachmad and Ruskin, treats techno like architecture under stress. ‘Build & Destroy’ does exactly that – chiselled drums, no decorative frills. ‘Footprints’ locks into swirling repetition, grooves circling with monk-like focus until the room feels gently pressurised. ‘Kobold’ scuttles with metallic mischief, all wiry synth stabs and shadow play, and then ‘Into Thin Air’ pares things back to a lean, oxygen-thin pulse. Functional and faintly severe – Blueprint in anniversary mode, no cake.
