And for a producer long associated with reduction and negative space, this one hits with unusual force. Big since the early 90s yet known to sidestep the spotlight, Dixon’s techno operandus is often confessional, titles reading like private notes, warm affirmations for traversing ice cold space vacuums, and it shows here – read: ‘The Art Of Possible’ and ‘Code Of The Forgotten’, hinting at values eroded and principles misplaced. But the acid dystopia is still chillingly melodious, chords hitting like urns full of numbered arpeggii and trailing behind space dust.
