Treasure II – Synaptic Cliffs 25 [FLEXIDISC 7″]

Treasure II finds Berlin’s pdqb (Sascha Dornhofer) press his foot-weight fully on the prankster-engineer pedal he’s cultivated across aliases and conceptual side-steps. Here’s two «lost» tracks fed to AI, reconstructed by machine, then pressed to green flexi: an unstable format chosen to undercut the promise of digital precision. ‘Glaskilometer’ and ‘Kryotanz’ run tight and efficient, clipped electro with a faint, then unsubtle Italo disco twitch, but the framing is the real move: authorship blurred, emotion «reduced». Dornhofer has long been a fan of absurdist presentation, but the production skills are real, evidenced most drivingly by the shivering, art-of-noisy scratch collage ‘Kryotanz’.
