This is a long overdue dive into the raw, 303-driven world of Djax-Up-Beats, a cult Dutch label founded in 1989 by Miss Djax. Spanning 15 years of releases, this compilation gathers 20 tracks across three 12″ records, all remastered to highlight every squelch and pulse. Dutch, French, UK, Norwegian and American artists converge, from Planet Gong and Acid Junkies to Mike Dearborn and China White, all blending dark, hypnotic warehouse techno with ambient, industrial and IDM textures that are often visceral and pointed. Curated by Christiaan Macdonald to honour the label’s communal, boundary-pushing ethos, Acid Trip, Volume 1 is an essential reminder of the role this label played in developing underground acid.
