Stedit 08
Para la octava referencia del sello británico Stedit tenemos dos tracks producidos por artista desconocido. Editado en vinilo morado marbled.
The mysterious STEDIT returns with the eighth instalment of their white label series where they flip classic songs into club-ready electro weapons. ‘Waiting For Tonight’ is a rework of the classic 1999 Jennifer Lopez song of the same name, and moulds Lopez’s silky voice into a reverb slathered accompaniment to some squelching electro action, with husky bass piercing through the track to make a club rocker similar to the work of the UK wonk maestro Ste Roberts. What a coincidence. Anyway, the B-side remixes Run DMC’s 1998 ‘It’s Like That’ with Jason Nevins, a rework itself, and turns it into a minimal reptilian wobbler, filled to the brim with masterful sample integration. Whoever is behind the STEDITS has a knack for managing to make household classics sound like they have always been wonky, a little off kilter and full of electronic weirdness.
