Alexander Kowalski assumes his legendary DisX3 alias for this latest return to Mord, and it’s an unrelenting assault of techno intensity. ‘Binary Structures’ is full of grit and grime – the overdriven automation of an old factory in meltdown. ‘Lost Coordinates’ mangles metal and churns synth daubs up into a dense world of rhythm and percussion that only grows more frenzied. ‘Resonance Studies’ pulls back a little – there drums still roll with force, but there’s more room for the searching synth pulses and ghostly vocals to make their own impact. ‘Oscillating Matter’ shuts down with more warehouse-ready techno that’s dank, deep and designed for full-bodied reactions.
