Faig is yet another enigmatic artist of the Rotterdam titan-imprint Planet Rhythm, and their newest label contribution is visually likened here to the heft of horsepower. ‘The Harvest’ and ‘Scope’ filter and bulge with the aplomb of eons, though groundedness is maintained in subtle kicks and handclaps. ‘Serum’ and ‘Against All Odds’ prefer to treat techno as sport, with rousing but not unserious shuffle, as if to evoke the sonic equivalent of chemical waste or metal radiation seeping through metal chainlinks.
