Oliver Ho maintains the link with his next Blueprint Records votive, ‘Our Secret Religion’, part of the label’s 30th anniversary and dotting a line back to his first appearances thereupon in the mid-90s. ‘Inside The Light’ and ‘Blank’ introduce the record on a clean, crystalline, ritual pull – no more than three or four elements predominate, saying, without saying it, that you don’t need much more than just as much – while ‘Blood & Feathers’ and ‘Burning The Spell’ take the opposite approach, aiming to leave the listener a tad more fear-stricken by their extra freakish layers.
