Berlin’s Alarico carries on his recent fast-moving streak with ‘Solace Pt. 1’, hitting as a new phase after earlier OBI releases and a steady rise through the European hardgroove circuit. Here he reins things in slightly, trading some outright velocity for tighter emotional control, though the drum work stays locked, forceful: violence seeps between beats as it does titles, ‘Skullcrusher’ and ‘Control’ indulging power-playing, sweat-drenched allusions, while ‘Solace’ and ‘Skin’ open more space, letting vocal sexuality into an already hard-grinding audio machine. ‘I Love You’ slips in a rare vocal touch, before ‘Obey’ closes the set in rhythmically advanced, dark-garage-trance mode.
