Special Series is back to roll out more fired-up and Latin-tinged techno on their own self-title label here. ‘Calinda’ is a barrelling and muscular techno sound that sweeps away everything in its wake, with slamming drums and caustic, churning textures sounding like a huge washing machine. ‘Shake That Ass’ will have you doing just that as it rides on scruffy kicks and with tightly coiled synth loops. ‘Madan’ shuts down with a hot Spanish vocal and carnival energy all worked into a bulky and loopy techno framework.
