Jungle practitioners L Major, Tamen and Ocean Dawn mark their first full release on Basics Records here. The two tracks showcase meticulous drum programming and rich, atmospheric production that is not afraid to wear its old school influences on its sleeve, but always crafted with sophistication. ‘The Path’ featuring Ocean Dawn charges ahead as a heavyweight stepper with precision hits, static-charged bass fizz and tumultuous rhythm. Tamen’s ‘Melt’ hits hard on the flip with an amen-driven groove that nods to the roots of the sound and is lifted by celestial pads that bring that absorbing, heavenly feel – that is until the drums crash down with a vengeance.
