Fides Records marks a decade in motion here as X55 expands its palette without losing sight of the dancefloor techno it has always dealt in. Across six superb tracks, the EP leans into contrast and control as driving dub pressure meets melodic lift in perfect harmony. Jon Hester’s ‘Oblique’ sets the tone with crisp drums and saturated tones, while ‘Caballo Azul (Z.I.P.P.O Rework)’ refines Franzizca’s original into something taut and deliberate. Pink Concrete’s ‘Now We Are’ glows with late-set optimism. On the flip, Tal Fussman’s ‘Ghost’ carries cinematic weight, Aasthma’s ‘The Love Bees’ twists expectations and Hiver’s ‘Restless’ closes with intricate and reflective poise.
