12 months on from his inspired split 12″ with Di’jital, Audio Analysis, Kraftjerkz founder Kid Ginseng returns with his first solo single since 2018. What’s an offer is a typically club-ready collection of cuts that sees him combine punchy electro (and more occasionally house or techno) beats with raw electronics, broken computer bleeps and subtle nods to 1980s hip-hop culture. The latter element is most obvious on ‘Roller Rink Scratch’, where turntablist Questosahn makes his presence felt, but can also be heard on the Kraftwerk-inspired bounce of ‘Bang The Room 2 (Bang The Room)’. Elsewhere, ‘Keep Your Distance’ is moody and trippy and the ‘Bare Bones Mix’ of ‘Bang The Room’ sits somewhere between ghetto-tech funkiness and the all-out electro aggression of Aux88.
