(Re)weave – Kapsela 05
Tristan Arp se encarga de hacer sonar la quinta referencia del sello Kapsela con cuatro tracks originales.
The fifth release on Objekt’s Kapsela imprint arrives with conceptual clarity but never falls into pretension. Detroit-born, London-based Tristan Arp wrote (re)weave during a period of near-constant relocation between Mexico, New York, Detroit, Mexico again, and finally London, and the music carries that restlessness in its grooves. Spidery ostinatos, syncopated kicks and a remarkable array of organic field recordings, including whales, insects, thunder and forest sounds, are woven into something that breathes and shifts shape like a living system. Borges was on the bedside table during its creation, and you can hear it: the record moves through labyrinths rather than in straight lines, doubling back on itself, recycling earlier sessions into newer ideas. An impossibly meticulous and singular piece of work.
