Berlin techno twosome Sid and Eddy, aka Schwefelgelb, lean into brightness a little more than usual with this new EP for n-PLEX, but none of the thump of their grooves is lost. ‘The Show’ flirts with Eurodance euphoria, its rising stabs primed for bigger rooms but resisting the obvious with a disciplined control of the low end. ‘In Mein Glas’ pivots into a springy house rhythm and impish synths that pop out of the tightly coiled, scruffy and skating low end. ‘Fieber’ sits right at the edge of chaos with unchained sirens and warped bass, and the remixes add contrast. Nastia Reigel strips ‘The Show’ to a punchier framework, and Norbak recasts ‘In Mein Glas’ into a deeper, dub-leaning cut.
