Epsie arrives on Secretsundaze’s 9FINITY with four tracks that keep their focus firmly on the mechanics of the dancefloor. ‘Out Of Sight’ opens on an elastic bassline that tugs against a steady kick, the groove shifting by degrees as small synth figures flicker in and out. ‘Somethings Wrong’ unsettles things further, a warped melodic loop circling just off-centre that never quite aligns with the drum pattern beneath it. ‘Darker Times’ tightens into electro, its kick and snare locked into a rigid grid, metallic tones pressing in from the edges. ‘Chase The Worm’ eases that tension, letting the bassline stretch and slip, with fragments of synth breaking the pattern at regular intervals. Nothing here is overstated. Each track turns on small adjustments, the kind you feel before you fully register.
