Birmingham and Dorset collide on Munich powerhouse Ilian Tape as father and daughter team re:ni and BiggaBush come together for an exploration of deep rhythm and atmospheric sound design with their ‘Bass Is The Space’ EP. The title cut opens with a laidback and horizontal sound for post-club comedowns. ‘Mae Uprising’ has more movement with a bubbly broken beat and lush chords, making for liquid grooves ripe for Balearic settings. The much more club-ready ‘Death By Dubplate (feat Farda P)’ has lithe dubstep drum work and menacing spoken words before closer ‘BigLozTek’ brings focused, heads down dub-techno depth and wobble.
