Rendezvous – Kynant 22

Hot new 12″ on Kynant, Richard Akingbehin’s Berlin label, home to the likes of Shinichi Atobe and Rene Lowe, and now unearthing a 2006 dub techno piece by Osaka’s DJ Compufunk (Nao), founder of the Compufunk Records shop and label. Lovegod is an alias used exactly once: Nao made ‘Rendezvous’ for a live set at United Underground, known as Tsurunomas (translation: The Crane Room), the short-lived, legendary underground club in Osaka. The ‘Rendezvous’ versions having had a proper release in the 20 years since, they now resurface as three glistening ambient house dubs, two handled by contemporary ambient session runner Priori and French hinge-point Janeret.
