Chris Liebing and Luke Slater are touring techno figureheads who come from different sides of the same coin – Liebing often preferring darker, more soot black atmospheres while Slater is a minimalist often with his mind in the cosmos. This coming together for ‘Double Split’ is a bit of both – razor-sharp electronics layered up meticulously into a rattling groove that never quits. Terence Fixmer sits at the same top table when it comes to techno and his first remix rocks back and forth on its heels with glistening synths and slithering modulations anchored by a bright, squelch acid line. The second is more lithe and cerebral with synths circling round the dubby, linear low-end pulse.
