We appraisers at Juno agree: the kicks on lead-up ’24 Karat’ are massive but undisturbable, impurities be damned, as soaring synths glide around like bezelled gems in the frame, all while hi-hats manage to satch (but not taint) the sound with slow-attack scuzz. Luis Leon & Unseener, Nacho Sanchez and Leiras wear the same ice with pride, and manage to bump up the price in the process; Sanchez’ remix is an especially amazeballs case of deep, sterling fineness, working in that well-known and reliable mode of broken, Reese-fluid breaks-and-bass uplift.
