Essen’s The Third Room serve four fresh techno mechanisms by various artists in their ring system. Their name originates from philosopher Homi K Bhabha’s theory of hybrid cultural space, in which different cultures coexist and make eager hybrids of each other. The ‘Curation’ series holds firm to that intention, bringing in various talent from far and wide: Naarm, Berlin, Lisbon, Brighton. Compare and contrast the respectively bleep-light and textural-earthy tones of D.Dan and Rene Wise on the A; or, on the B, consider in juxtaposition the serpentine steps of Connor Wall and the acid yelps of Sunji Hargun and DJ Maria.
