Is Coco Bryce the best drum & bass talent the Netherlands has ever produced? We would say so. PRSPCT must agree, because they welcome him back here for a new four-tracker with deep jungle credibility. ‘Something In The Air Tonight’ rather disappointingly, doesn’t have anything to do with the Phil Collins classic, but it does have some killer drums that even the former Genesis man would struggle to match. ‘The Common People’ isn’t a Pulp tribute either. It’s a mystic jungle sound with mesmerising and rather haunting leads and impossibly deep bass. ‘Our Darkness’ takes you into an eerie world of mirrors and reflective surfaces with meticulous drum and bass interchange and ‘Distant Planet’ get more dense, crunchy and manic.
