Dutch producer Marwan manages to tread a fine line between deep listening and club function across five effective tracks here. ‘Tedere Onverschilligheid’ is, linguistically, an ID that will be hard to share, but is the sort of fulsome, glitchy, percussive jam that will get much requested. ‘Vrijheidsdromer» sinks into rolling bass with organic percussion that feels alive throughout while ‘Ik Ontdekte Sacramento Ezel’ starts dark before opening into one of the EP’s more uplifting stretches. ‘Heldere Geest’ takes some great scenic detours before settling into hypnotic groove, and ‘De Speech’ is an expansive finale. Artfully crafted stuff.
