Berlin-based live artist Aju is all about high-energy sounds in various forms, from melodic techno to progressive and trance. He’s dropped it on Harmony Records and Kalahari Oysterkult before now and here lands on Neptune Discs/ There’s real range packed into these four tracks, rolling, chord-heavy club cuts sitting alongside vocal-led peak-time moments. ‘The Culture’ is a hyper-real sound with pacey kicks that managed to retain a light touch for real uplift, ‘House Pipes’ is in a hurry too, this time with molten chords draped over the flat, slamming drums. ‘Play It Fair’ skates rather than slams, with deft drums and percussion that will have you floating above the floor before a more twisted tribal-trance-tekno closer ‘Lost In Vision.’
