Australian imprint sense. launches with Sin Romper, a debut release from Romanian producer Alin Crihan that sits comfortably within the murkier reaches of minimal house. It’s considerably more atmospheric than much contemporary dancefloor fare, with the weightless drift of ‘Sin Romper’ and taut groove science of ‘What Do You Want?’ presenting a shadowy late-night setting that’s filled with subtle details and faintly unsettling textures. Elsewhere, the rain-soaked pulse of ‘Circular Motion’ keeps us locked in, before ‘Stele Verzi’ closes proceedings through a haze of sparkling ambience and dreamlike melancholy. A strong opening statement from both artist and label alike.
