Allure EP – Token 142

Unexplained phenomena so exceptional, they defy categorisation: that’s the intended bent of Singular Anomalies, Naples’ own Ferdinando Apicella under the techno pseudonym. The ‘Allure’ of this EP rests in its unique textures and gammy sound design, ‘Jamm Bell’ and ‘Vicaria’ serving basslines gritty and globular, deep and mirthless, swelling from the mix like retched-up boluses. Only ‘Allure’ transposes the mood to a simpler, higher-frequency jerk melody, before ‘Vac E Press’ delves deeper into the mists of atmosphere.
