Cold Machines Are Learning Love – Flight Mode 10

Geneva-based producer of cold wave, synth-wave and EBM, Orphia, also reaches into Krautrock’s icy, machine-driven lineage here on a precise set of cuts inspired by electro’s earliest pioneers. Title track ‘Cold Machines Are Learning Love’ sets a nostalgic yet forward-facing tone and is paired with the moody ‘System Zero_1,’ the drifting ‘Slow Drifting Satellites’ and closer ‘1NT851.’ Orphia’s Franco-Swiss sensibility for elegant, emotionally resonant composition shines throughout here. Here tunes might be cold on the surface, but there is real warmth underneath.
