Gockel & Friends – Patent 03
Gockel colabora con varios artistas para lanzar este EP de cuatro cortes para su propio sello Patent.
Patent drops EP number three here and does so with the help of friends HXTC, Marco Wachs, Plug Trax and Dying & Barakat, who all collaborate with main man Gockel. Open ‘Quadrant’ is thumping dub tech that is marbled with the fizz of static and drenched in classic chords. ‘Anvil’ is similarly Motor City leaning, this time with a more pared back Detroit techno sound that. ‘Momentum’ races at speed with big, oversized and icy hi-hats shimmering over warped pad work. Last but not least is ‘Dusk’ which is darker than the name suggests, with menace in the shadows and momentum in the broody drums. Characterful techno that is hand-stamped and hand-numbered.
