Rome’s Conrad Van Orton is no stranger to Key and is back in top form on this return to the label. ‘I Wish I Could’ wastes no time in slamming out a tight, focused rhythm with scant synth stabs bringing extra bite. ‘Smiling Eyes’ is another pared-back but muscular techno workout with out-of-kilter drums and hits making for an urgency that really bangs. ‘Aida’ cuts loose and taps into party mode with dusty drums looped so closely that they form a wave of sounds that’s made playful by some liquid synth loops up top. ‘Glow In The Dark’ is straight back to business s- heads down, shoulder dropped, no nonsense and full-bodied techno.
