Salt in the wound, or salt in the groove, you choose. Barcelona-born, Amsterdam-based David Iriarte comes under his own name over a handful of Dutch labels – Down2earth, Dzungla, Spectral Bounce – though it’s through the first of which he shares this new saline sound stimulator in four tracks. Flatbeds of tongue-tingling sonics emerge especially on ‘Lapse’ and ‘City Fiction’, tunes favouring dexterous synth laps and intelligent jellies of no less percussive sound. The closer title-track truly sounds like a minimal dub tech tune made with instruments suffused with the ubiquitous, naturally occurring mineral – an impressive undertaking.
