Finland has always done a fine line in deep and dubby techno and the Vuo label continues that tradition with a suitably autumnal drop for the seance in their Moodsurf series. It’s a split between local artists with Uusikyla opening on a decidedly Basic Channel-adjacent tip full of airy kicks and implicit bounce. The collab with Takapaju leans more into propulsion, then TSSRCT Dubs drops a top trio that goes from super slow motion to gentle acid-laced and then more starry-eyed and pensive. Pure class.
Second volume in Vuo’s Moodsurf series. Finnish, functional, no filler. Solid. Nothing here is loud. It works because it holds back, letting space and repetition do the job a drop usually does.
