Australian-born London-based DJ Zara land son the highly coveted Spazio Disponibile label headed up by peerless Italian techno sculptors Neel and Donato Dozzy. Her work is a perfect fit – otherworldly, fluid, distilled to perfection. ‘4th Src’ opens at great depth with kicks spread wide and stuttering beneath exploratory leads. ‘Plastique (Live Version)’ has vast rubbery pings overlaid with automated machine sounds that speak of a factory production line and ‘Quartz’ is punchy, stripped bare techno with skittish synths triggered constantly up top. ‘Orb’ flutters with tribal toms straight from a jungle ritual and ‘Plastique’ is echo-drenched dub that is saturated and menacing.
