Paris-born, Berlin-functioning man Casual Treatment (Melvyn Ortega) bounces back on TH Tar with 5 Hours Later, his first LP for the label following 2025’s ‘Tar 27’ EP. Tar Hallow’s own copy describes it as a record «designed to loop and overlap», and we assume the title is related here, perhaps referencing to the amnestic state you might find yourself in both before and after listening, with no recollection of what on Earth went on in between. Our favourites ‘Speed Run’, ‘Strobe Mode’ and ‘Refocusing (Confront)’ are sculptural, divergent takes on a techno sound he *could* have dashed off, but didn’t: «all the hours did not follow a straight path.»
