Paris manifest Ian Maur makes his techno debut on 59Bel’s fourth EP, following a throng of mixes played and recorded from across the minimal magnetic field, from Minimal Requirements through to Pinata Radio and Bliss. Less named, and more coded like sonic case documents, these tense, suspensory tunes tickle us right across with shear-force apprehension and dreadful unease, with double-tiss hi-hats and oddly toned claps adding control variables of randomness over prediction, as faint radio chatter and frisky percs echo away through the turboshaft.
