What a Faff! A new London duo make their Phantasy debut with the ‘A Few Good Days’ EP, soundbreaking the city’s queer electronic underground. After a spate of spangly DJ and live sets at festivals including Draimollen, Field Maneuvers and Body Movements, we’re now paid a recorded musical visit by various lascivious layers of hypnotic percussion, fractured breaks and fleeting vocal fragments, taking after two core, ineluctable influences: One Dove and Sabres Of Paradise. ‘Tracy’s Night Out’ ramps up to choral techno drama over a bouncing bassline, while ‘Tracy’s Daydream’ winds the EP down with soft analogue washes and reflective textures, as raveology dissolves into snapped-up, bony acid ala Roy Of The Ravers.
