Aleeks is a new artist, we think, who emerges from nowhere but with a mightily impressive sound on this new EP for ARTs. It is deep techno from the off with ‘Come Catch My High’ setting a speedy pace and embellishing the drums with the most slight and sci-fi motifs. ‘Taped’ is a synth-laced blizzard that flashes before your eyes as deeply buried drums bounce on. ‘Debakel Dub’ is another turbocharged sound but it’s warm, inviting, and the sort of serene and speedy sound that lifts you up to another level. ‘Dig The Rhythm’ shows more expert drum programming and potent bass in a slick, stylish tune designed for maximum take off.
